If CMIP data is used, it must be cited. This enables modelling centres and others who support CMIP to gain recognition for their efforts, and secure funding for continued contribution. The use of CMIP data must also conform to licensing restrictions. You are also encouraged to upload your publication citation metadata to the CMIP Document Library. Document library can be found here. Instructions for upload can be found in the next section.
CMIP upload requirement
CMIP documentation has historically been stored by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL). With the creation of the new International Project Office, documentation is now being coordinated by the International Project Office. There is now a shared, community library. All publications using CMIP outputs should now also submit the citation information to the CMIP group library using the form below. We also encourage the upload of software and code related to CMIP. This could be processed data files used in a journal publication, or the development of an tool for analysing CMIP data.
Form can also be accessed in a new tab here.
