This community roadmap is compiled from ideas shared, challenges identified, and suggestions for collective action to strengthen the observational-modelling interface critical to our understanding of climate change.

Submit an idea

To submit an idea for the community roadmap, the form below. Alternatively you can open the form in a new tab by following this link. Ideas are welcomed that identify:

  • Existing challenge areas/emerging challenges.
  • Key scientific/technological/capability frontiers.
  • Collaborations required/existing/to be developed.
  • Game-changers -ground-breaking/if no limits to resources

The roadmap was initially developed from ideas submitted and discussed during a World Café at the 2nd Climate Observation Conference on 17 – 19 October 2022 which took place in Darmstadt, Germany. The roadmap is live and will remain open for new submissions until the WCRP Open Science Conference in Rwanda, 23-27 October 2023. A second World Café will be run by the event partners with a focus on the Global South and on prioritisation to inform a detailed extract of the roadmap for the next 3 years.
