You’ll be a member of a small, dedicated cross-functional, agile team, working directly with leading climate modelling and data scientists on the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) CMIP and Working Group on Coupled Modelling (WGCM) Infrastructure Panels, supporting and developing the distributed infrastructure behind CMIP including model documentation, collecting and specifying community data requirements, and the development and management of tools for preparing outputs compliant with these data standards.
A key part of the role will be to engage with scientific and downstream users to identify user requirements and devise and implement new features with associated tests and to ensure that CMIP remains current and at the forefront of interoperability and use, where appropriate, state-of-the-art development platforms, tools and techniques.
