6 November @ 17:00 – 18:00 GMT
Are you interested in discovering how CMIP data will be published, managed and accessed for CMIP7 and the latest on the new Earth System Grid Federation Next Generation (ESGF-NG)? If so, join us at one of our two upcoming virtual sessions on Wednesday 5 November at 08:00 UTC and Thursday 6 November at 17:00 UTC (see event page for Wednesday 5 November 08:00 UTC session by following this link). To register for either session, please complete this form.
This community drop- in session will be chaired by the WCRP ESMO Infrastructure Panel (WIP) co-chairs, James Anstey (CCCma, Canada) and Matt Mizielinski (Met Office, UK) alongside the wider members of the WIP, WIP task teams, and the ESGF Executive Committee. The primary target audience for this drop in session are modelling groups and people engaging with the infrastructure, but all are welcome to attend. We intend to run additional drop in sessions with further updates in the new year.
You will find out about the latest delivery status of the CMIP7 infrastructure and the ESGF-NG, and what has changed from CMIP6 together with updates/introductions to:
- Branded variables, data request, and MIP tables (CMOR tables)
- Controlled vocabularies
- Model registration and EMD
- Grid registration
- ESGF update
- Energy consumption and carbon footprint
This is a great opportunity to ask questions! The sessions are open to anyone who uses, will use or has an interest in CMIP7 infrastructure, and CMIP data delivery and access. Those unable to attend can still register to receive the slides and drop-in session recordings.
