Session 1

The CMIP Model Benchmarking Task Team and the Rapid Evaluation Framework delivery team would like to invite developers of python libraries to share their tools and discuss requirements for future evolution of the REF (including, but not limited to, expansion for CORDEX, high resolution modelling and IAMs) as well as exploring opportunities for more short term challenges of streamlining preparation of observation datasets for ingest by the REF and forcing dataset evaluation/quality control within the CMIP Assessment Fast Track timescale.  

The session will provide a brief overview of the REF and the opportunities for python developers for short term and longer term enhancement and expansion.  There will be a few rapid fire showcase slots (4minutes each) for showcasing existing tools/software. There will then be a chance for open discussion between attendees and members of the Model Benchmarking Task Team and REF delivery team.

Please register your interest in participating in this form, which provides an opportunity to indicate if you have a tool/library/software that you’d like to showcase.  If your tool is open source, we encourage you to upload details of it to our tools database.  Any tools being discussed in relation to the REF do need to be available/have potential to be made available under a CC.BY.4.0 license or equivalent.
